This jean runs a little big so I sized down
"I was looking for a lighter weight denim for summer. I decided to try these based on style and material content. I was not certain which size would fit so I ordered a size 12 and size 10. I was happily surprised that while both fit, the size 10 was the better fit. And the denim weight was perfect for summer. The stretch was also perfect. I am 5'4", short waisted and 170. I am on the border of being petite and regular, yet find regular size jeans more comfortable because of my 10 inch rise. My favorite summer length is 27". Because of my weight I like a little stretch, although with NYDJ not all stretch is the same. These Sheri slim high waisted frayed hem in this color blue are perfect for me. The leg is straight but not wide, the high waist means I do not have to keep tugging to pull them up, the waist closes easily, and the leg length falls just above my ankle. The 12, while comfortable ran a little bigger and a the leg length fell just below my ankle. An interesting note - I tried this same style in the optic white in a size 12 and it was too tight. The material content was different and the stretch rating was a level lower than the blue. However NYDJ's return policy makes it easy to find the perfect jean for me."
